We went to see the Incredible Hulk and The Happening this weekend. Here are my reviews of them:
The Incredible Hulk
In one word, Fantastic! I loved this film. Add another notch to the Marvel studios belt. With plenty of action, a good story, and better looking Hulk, they have put together the film we wanted a few years back with the first film. There are several throw backs to old TV show, including some of the old music, and Lou contributing as the voice of the Hulk, as well as a brief cameo. Also, Stan gets to have his first death scene in a Marvel film. This film, as with Ironman feels more like their comics then most comic book movies. Also a side note, the special ending was moved from after the credits to just before the credits on this one, so you don’t have to wait.
I give Incredible Hulk 9.5 out of 10 stars!!
The Happening
One of M. Night’s better movies, I would rate it at least as good as Unbreakable. As has been stated before this is an R rated movie, and violence is a bit disturbing at times, but is not that graphic. Also, there was no real movie turning twist. There was a bit of a twist, but not the classic fool you right up until the reveal twist. This one is stated fairly early in the film, but is still quite different from the typical disaster film. The story does get a bit slow at times, but over all was good. I would probably suggest waiting until it comes out on DVD or HBO for this one. It was good, but not really “go to the theater” good.
